Hello, I'm Sierra.
Sierra Fouts
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist - Associate
Supervised by Dana Lewin, LMFT-Supervisor
I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist Associate. I earned my Bachelors Degree
in Psychology and Masters Degree in Marriage & Family Therapy from Oklahoma State University.
Over the years, I've had the opportunity to work with individuals, couples, children, and families in various settings, including private practice, university clinics, and a family crisis center. These experiences have deepened my understanding of trauma and healing, and I am passionate about creating a safe, compassionate space where clients can explore their struggles and create lasting change.
My approach is grounded in systems theory, which allows me to understand how family,
relationships, and our broader environment shape who we are. I believe that mental health is influenced by the dynamics of the systems we’re part of. I also integrate Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), rooted in attachment theory, to help clients deepen emotional awareness, improve communication, and foster more secure connections. EFT is a powerful tool for healing relational wounds, processing grief, managing anxiety, and overcoming disconnection in relationships.
Additionally, I’m trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a
trauma-focused therapy that helps clients process painful memories, reduce emotional distress, and reframe traumatic experiences. Whether you’re facing trauma, chronic stress or anxiety, or complex grief, EMDR is a highly effective tool for bringing relief and healing.
I come from a family that has navigated divorce and coparenting, remarriage and blending of families, neurodiversity, and profound loss. Each shift reorganized and shaped us, and it’s been a blessing to witness the resilience of the family system and the human spirit all the while. I was raised in a home of first responders, and I understand the Kevlar they wear, even after the uniform comes off; how the emotional toll of unspoken burdens extends beyond the individual, and weaves its impact through family dynamics.
Having lived through these complexities, I’ve seen firsthand how trauma can move through
generations, influencing relationships and shaping how we cope with pain. I also know the power of facing these challenges and learning to transform them. My own experiences have given me deep empathy for the struggles others face, and I’m committed to helping you navigate whatever you’re dealing with—whether it’s anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, ADHD / neurodiversity, relationship dynamics or the aftermath of life’s unexpected turns.

I am looking forward to working with you!
Sometimes finding the right counselor is simply a matter of finding someone who has training and experience in the particular area you are looking for but sometimes finding the right fit in a counselor can be more challenging.
